Our founding in November 2002, the Arcus Group has been operating in Hokkaido, the Tohoku region, and northern Kanto as a distribution group centered on food supermarkets that are closely tied to the local community, under the group's management policy of "Yatsugatake Mountain Range Management." As of the end of May 2025, we are operating 374 stores through 10 food supermarkets and one peripheral business company.
The business environment surrounding our company remains uncertain, with continued price increases, a continuing downward trend in real wages, a strong tendency among consumers to save money, and uncertainty over trade policies originating from the United States.
In the food supermarket industry, while industry restructuring has become more active, the business environment has continued to become more severe due to rising electricity rates, construction material costs, labor costs, etc.
In this situation, our company has set the following as our new year policy for 2025: " At a time when inflation continues, we will break through the wage and price barrier by improving productivity and put all our efforts into realizing a virtuous cycle."
The competitive environment across industries and business formats is becoming increasingly fierce, but for the sake of our customers, the ARCS Group will continue to grow by differentiating itself from rival stores through strengthening its pricing policy with further implementation of low-cost management and expanding its product lineup with an emphasis on freshness and deliciousness.
Improving productivity is essential to overcoming the barriers of rising wages and prices. As a lifeline for the local community, we will continue to provide valuable products and services at prices that are acceptable to both customers and companies, and will do our utmost to ensure that a virtuous cycle is realized for all stakeholders.
