Since its establishment in November 2002, the Arcs Group, under the management policy of "Yatsugatake Range Management," has been developing regionally-focused stores in Hokkaido, the Tohoku region, and northern Kanto as a distribution group centered on local food supermarkets. As of the end of May 2024, we operate 375 stores through 10 food supermarket companies and one peripheral business company.
The business environment surrounding our company, despite increasing geopolitical risks, is gradually recovering due to factors such as the easing of the semiconductor supply system, the recovery of inbound demand, and increased capital investment associated with strong corporate performance. However, there is also ongoing pressure on personal consumption due to continued price increases, leading to an uncertain outlook.
In the food supermarket industry, inter-company competition across various industries and business formats has accelerated, and the management environment has remained challenging due to rising electricity rates, construction material costs, and labor costs.
In this context, we have set the following as our 2024 New Year's policy: "Competition is the food for growth; enhance the power of cooperation to provide good products at reasonable prices, and fulfill our mission." The competitive environment across various industries and business formats will become increasingly intense, but the Arcs Group will continue to grow by constantly striving from all perspectives for the benefit of our customers. By further deepening various collaborations, it is our mission as food supermarkets to provide valuable products and services at reasonable prices. We will fulfill our mission as essential workers in the supermarket industry and strive to ensure the living foundation of all our stakeholders.

As a basic approach to clarify in which areas we should do our social mission, the ARCS Group philosophy, which is shared by all group companies, is "contribute to affluent lifestyles by providing valuable merchandise and services at low prices as keep a lifeline for each community". The term "lifeline" usually refers to the social network systems (electricity, gas, water, etc.) to maintain social lives, of life, the food supply is also play an important roll for sustaining life.
ARCS group is an aggregation of various companies. We share the same fundamental philosophy, and each group company also has its own bases. "ARCS" comes from "arc". Each company draws a strong arc and creates a large circle (ARCS). It means "contributing to the local community". ARCS also consists the initials of Always, Rising, Community, a nd Service,Each letter has following meanings.
