The ARCS Group, since its inception in November 2002 with our business management policy “Yatsugatake Mountain Range Management" has been steadily developping as local community-oriented retail network, primarily based on food supermarkets, in the Hokkaido, Tohoku region, and North Kanto regions of Japan. As of the end of May 2022, we operate 375 stores through ten food supermarket companies and one peripheral business.
The business environment surrounding our company has been uncertain, marked by global concerns such as climate change, restrictions on social and economic activities by the worldwide spread of the novel coronavirus, and adding geopolitical risks like the Ukraine situation affecting supply chains.
Amidst these uncertain circumstances of our country, as a lifeline keeper for each community, put a priority to the safety and health of our customers and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. To achieve customer convenience, we renewed the "ARCS App" in November 2021 and opened the "ARCS Online Shop" in October 2021, be useful by customers to order in-store and specialty products online, with delivery services expand many areas.
Additionally, we have established "Contributing to affluent lifestyles of customers," "Coexistence with local communities," “Keep the Environment in order," and "Promoting Diversity and Inclusion" as our materiality on sustainability efforts. We are committed together to advancing sustainability initiatives to achieve a more sustainable local society and the growth of our group, with all members of the group working together.

As a basic approach to clarify in which areas we should do our social mission, the ARCS Group philosophy, which is shared by all group companies, is "contribute to affluent lifestyles by providing valuable merchandise and services at low prices as keep a lifeline for each community". The term "lifeline" usually refers to the social network systems (electricity, gas, water, etc.) to maintain social lives, of life, the food supply is also play an important roll for sustaining life.
ARCS group is an aggregation of various companies. We share the same fundamental philosophy, and each group company also has its own bases. "ARCS" comes from "arc". Each company draws a strong arc and creates a large circle (ARCS). It means "contributing to the local community". ARCS also consists the initials of Always, Rising, Community, a nd Service,Each letter has following meanings.
